Her heart was rushing, she could feel the adrenaline running through her veins, the butterflies in her stomach, it was Maya’s first official flight and she could not be more excited, she greeted and smiled at the people in the airport as she walked towards the plane.

The First Wing
“ Could you take a picture of me here? I want to remember this moment forever.” Said Maya to one of the airport’s ground crew members as she stopped in front of the plane.
“ Sure, stand in front of the wing, the lighting is really good there.” He says as he takes the picture, then hands her back the phone.
“ Thank you, have a great day” Says Maya as she boards the plane.
Once inside, Maya sits at the captain’s seat and decides to take a minute to enjoy the moment, to take a breath, to prepare herself for this big moment she has been dreaming about for most of her life.
“ Are you ready?” Said the air traffic controller to Maya.
“ I have never been so ready.” Said Maya as she heads towards the runway.
“ Prepared to take off? Young pilot in the making.” Said the air traffic controller jokingly.
“ Prepared to take off.” Said Maya confidently.
The Twin Mountains and the Viola River
The plane races towards the end of the runway and eventually takes off. Maya is smiling, a tear of happiness drops as she thinks about how she finally accomplished her biggest dream, to fly. She spends half an hour in the middle of clouds and eventually reaches the Twin Mountains and the Viola river. She watches the beautiful sunset.
“The sky never looked so pretty, orange mixed with pink and white, a true work of art.” thought Maya.
She tries to go down closer to the Viola river, but the plane started to make noises and would not go down, she checks around the pilot’s cabin to see what’s wrong but she can’t seem to find anything. She tries to go down again, but it doesn’t work. Maya soon notices that the gasoline is at a low level, which she doesn’t comprehend why since she saw the ground crew members filling up the plane with gasoline as she was taking her picture. Maya starts to panic and calls the tower ( air traffic controller) for help.
“ I think there is something wrong with my plane, it won’t go down and the gasoline is at a very low level, please send assistance as fast as you can.” Said Maya panicking to the air traffic controller.
“ We have your coordinates, an emergency helicopter is on its way, don’t worry they should be getting there in about 15 minutes” Said the air traffic controller to Maya.
Maya keeps going in circles awaiting for the helicopter, she tries to calm herself down but she knows her plane can fall into the river at any moment… She soon sees the helicopter from the distance but it was too late, Maya’s plane fell in the Viola River minutes before the emergency helicopter arrived. Sadly, she did not survive the accident but at least she accomplished her biggest dream before passing away, to fly.
