Losing weight allows you to get higher speeds with the same amount of effort you put in. Not only that, but you will notice the difference when going uphill or up on slopes as there is less force of gravity acting on you. It also helps you with Number 1, it also reduces the amount of drag you face.

Compared to the other options above, this requires a bit of an investment. Getting a bike that has an aerodynamic frame and wheels cane help improve your speed. However most of your improvements will come from weight and body positioning.
