The optimal amount of time to sleep is 8 hours but that is not possible for a lot of people as their days might just be too busy. However your brain requires those hours to function properly and if it doesn’t, your reaction speed also drops significantly.

I mean it, play video games! According to research done at the University of Rochester, they explained how playing video games help to make real-life decisions faster and result in heightened sensitivity to their surroundings. [1]

3. Practice, Practice, Practice!

Some tasks require a particular motion to be able to react faster, like table tennis and tennis. Constantly practicing helps to improve reaction time as the more you practice the better you are able to react to situations within the task.

Eggs and spinach is not everyone’s favorite, however, a research by Leiden University and the University of Amsterdam found that participants who had spinach and eggs performed better at reaction based tests.

5. Relax

Being too tensed only reduces reaction time as tensed and stiff muscles are harder to move. Your aim should be relaxed yet vigilant. This is the best way you can actively make the best of your overall reaction speed is to avoid being tensed.
